Smart Cities: Toronto and Beyond

Toronto’s Quayside project, though the original Sidewalk Labs plan was canceled in 2020, catalyed Canadian smart city innovation. Toronto now operates one of North America’s most advanced intelligent traffic management systems, with 2,500+ connected traffic signals and AI-based adaptive signal timing that has reduced travel times by up to 25% on major corridors. Vancouver’s Greenest City Action Plan includes IoT sensors monitoring air quality, water consumption, and waste management across the city.

Agriculture: Feeding the World Sustainably
